Suspicious Person in Stanford Driveway

On Monday morning, 10/09, at around 9 a.m., a neighbor in the 3000 block of Stanford reports that she exited her home through the front door to find an unfamiliar African-American  young man (late teens or early 20s) with a skateboard standing on her driveway not far from her car. They did not exchange words, but she says that the young man nodded to her and took off on his skateboard up the driveway and into the street. The neighbor believes this individual did not enter her driveway via the street, because where she was sitting inside she had a clear view of the street, and she did not notice him until she exited the house.

The neighbor reports that, although she called the police later in the day, they would not take a report because she didn’t call right when it happened.

Keep your eyes open, and if you see anything suspicious, please do not hesitate to call 911.

Alert: This week we have investigated cases where people had left their firearms in their unlocked vehicle and the firearm was stolen. The repercussion  of a stolen firearm on the street and in the wrong hands is so great that it cannot be articulated.

TIP: Please remove firearms from your vehicle or secure them in the trunk when you are going to be away from your car for a long period of time.

TIP: Take a picture of all your valuables, to include the serial numbers and send them to the cloud. If you do this, you will have no problem identifying your property in case it is ever stolen.

Until next time stay safe and don’t be an easy target. Secure your stuff!

District 3, Criminal Investigations weekly newsletter-01 Sep.

Greetings all District 3 neighbors,

We are still experiencing a spike in B&E to motor vehicles throughout the district. However, the majority of these vehicles are unlocked with property in plain view.

The burglary trend remains the same. The thieves are going through open garages and unlocked garage doors.

Tip: Please lock your vehicles and before you turn in for the night or if you are leaving your home secure your home by locking the doors and closing your garage door. And keep a light on downstairs, criminals hate light. Finally, use your alarm when you leave home and put it on stay when you go to bed.

Until next time stay safe. Call me or email me if you have questions.

A dark blue or black 2004 Buick Rainer (NC plate PFD4220) occupied by as many as four males, has been seen at least twice with the occupants casing houses. The occupants  knock on doors and when confronted invent a story and then leave the area. Please stay vigilant and report any suspicious activity to 911.

As previously mentioned, we are experiencing an increased trend of vehicle break-ins district wide.  There are 2 methods of entry, either through an unlocked door or by breaking the window.

Suspicious Activity-Black SUV-License plate PFD-4220

Earlier today on Oxford Dr. a black SUV with the license plate PFD-4220 was witnessed pulling into a home when there were no cars in the driveway.  A young man of African-American dissent went to the door, rang the doorbell and when no answer was made at the door he proceeded to walk behind the house.

A neighbor who had been watching approached the man who then indicated he was looking for a friend.  To be safe the neighbor reported the incident to the police who indicated they have been looking to question this individual as there have been similar reports of this person making similar attempts at other homes.

If this vehicle is spotted in the neighborhood please contact 911.

District 3 Crime Alert all neighborhoods

We have experienced a recent trend in burglaries being committed with the residents at home typically in the bedroom sleeping.

The district had three more events of this nature this weekend in the Fortunes Ridge Community.

During these burglaries the suspect(s) enter the residence through an unlocked sliding glass door or unlocked screen door. Once inside the residence the suspect(s) apparently roam through the premises in attempts to locate valuables (i.e. money, jewelry, small electronics and credit/ATM cards) in each case the suspect(s) have taken the victims cellphone and car keys.

These burglaries occur in the wee hours if the morning (1 am to 3 am) the suspect(s) usually approach homes that are usually dark inside and outside.

We believe that the suspect is perhaps a black male in his late twenties or early thirties. He may to be about 5′ 07 “to 6’00” feet tall, medium build with a short close cut haircut. We also believe that this guy is driving a Gold/Tan late model Nissan maybe a Maxima.

TIP: Please lock your sliding glass doors, screen doors, garages and garage doors. This is the suspect(s) method of entry. Put your alarm on stay and keep a light on downstairs.

Help us catch this guy, we would sure like to talk to him. If you see this vehicle or someone matching this description or any suspicious persons or activity in your neighborhood call 911.

Please pass this bulletin on to those who do not have the listserv or email capability.

PAC-3 Crime Alert

Greetings;

On Sunday morning (July 9, 2017)  at approximately 12:30 a.m. there was an attempted break-in in the 700 block of Carroll Street. The suspect rang the doorbell several times then goes to the rear of the house and kicks the back door in an attempt to gain entry. Fortunately, in this case the resident of the home was awakened by the door bell and the noise coming from the kitchen. When the resident yelled out Who’s there? the suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction.

Tips: Please be alert to possible break-in suspects. Call 911 immediately upon noticing any suspicious persons and activities.

Please be sure to keep a light on in your homes and on your front and back door. And when you turn in for the evening put your alarms on stay. Crooks hate light and noise.

And finally, please lock your sliding glass doors and close your garage door before going to bed.

Until next time, stay safe.
