District 3 Crime Alert all neighborhoods

We have experienced a recent trend in burglaries being committed with the residents at home typically in the bedroom sleeping.

The district had three more events of this nature this weekend in the Fortunes Ridge Community.

During these burglaries the suspect(s) enter the residence through an unlocked sliding glass door or unlocked screen door. Once inside the residence the suspect(s) apparently roam through the premises in attempts to locate valuables (i.e. money, jewelry, small electronics and credit/ATM cards) in each case the suspect(s) have taken the victims cellphone and car keys.

These burglaries occur in the wee hours if the morning (1 am to 3 am) the suspect(s) usually approach homes that are usually dark inside and outside.

We believe that the suspect is perhaps a black male in his late twenties or early thirties. He may to be about 5′ 07 “to 6’00” feet tall, medium build with a short close cut haircut. We also believe that this guy is driving a Gold/Tan late model Nissan maybe a Maxima.

TIP: Please lock your sliding glass doors, screen doors, garages and garage doors. This is the suspect(s) method of entry. Put your alarm on stay and keep a light on downstairs.

Help us catch this guy, we would sure like to talk to him. If you see this vehicle or someone matching this description or any suspicious persons or activity in your neighborhood call 911.

Please pass this bulletin on to those who do not have the listserv or email capability.
